A women’s business group I belong to, Uproar, reminded me the other day that it was Intention Monday and invited me to set my intention for the week. What I came up with (as I was not sleeping) was that I wanted to learn a lot this week.

I had just watched Cosmos and my mind was spinning. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to learn about. I was just feeling sponge-y and wanted to absorb information in general.

Another by-product of my insomnia was an email request to the Freedom of Information Act. I’ve always wanted to know what my mother’s (step) FBI file included. She was a very interesting woman who died way too young. We had just visited her Greenwich Village apartment over the weekend and she was on my mind. In retrospect I think she was significantly influential in my becoming a Geeky Wise Woman.

So check a bucket list item off– I have now applied to receive her FBI file and I will learn what J.Edgar Hoover’s department thought was important about Agnes Spencer.

Also taking advantage of one of the many online college courses available– this one through Coursera. I’m watching Dan Ariely’s course on Predictable Irrationality.

It’s only Wednesday. I have much more to learn. What shall I focus on?
