In the very first chapter they state a myth that permeates most corporate culture: Time + Physical Presence = Results. Everyone who has ever worked in an office has felt the shackles of a culture that treats workers like children, and the judgment of colleagues who keep track of your comings and goings.
Freedom and responsibility must be nurtured but the rewards are huge for the forward-thinking company. I am eager to read more, and particularly want to hear how Ressler & Thompson teach people how to identify and describe clearly the expected results. For managers I’ve worked with, that can be challenging.
